If NameGrabber or DataGrabber stops working as expected soon after an update or credential change to the Practice Management software, the DataDrill - the access NameGrabber/DataGrabber has to the PM Software's patient database - may need updating as well.
Depending on the Practice Management software, this issue can be noticed immediately, as the entire connection will break and errors will populate frequently, or it could take until the next new patient is encountered, as only part of the connection is affected and the bridge can still function adequately with the rest still intact.
Some common examples of PM software that may experience this are Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
If an issue is noticed with NameGrabber/DataGrabber not bridging correctly, and an update or credential change to the Practice Management software has happened within the last 3 months or so, please follow the steps outlined in our DataDrill Installation - Connection to Practice Management Software article.
(Note: If using Dentrix G6.2 or higher, the DataDrill upgrader will need to be run on the server where Dentrix is installed.)
