Your XVWeb user must have EDIT privileges to use these features.
Edits also can be made with XVCapture using the following articles:

This guide is split into five parts:
- Editing Patient Information
- Editing DICOM Information in a Study
- Editing DICOM Information in a Series
- Editing DICOM Information in an Image
- Moving images between patients.
Editing Patient Information
You can update the patient information stored with your images in XVWeb. Patient information is the first name, last name, date of birth, gender, primary id, and patient comments.
Procedures
Given that you are logged into XVWeb with a user with Edit
privileges, choose a patient you would like to update.
- When the View Page displays, click the Patient Edit icon next to the patient's name at the top of the page (if you don't see the icon of a box with a pencil in it, your user does not have
Edit
privileges):
The Patient Edit panel only shows the tags or fields that are common with every DICOM instance (images and documents) for that patient:
- Click Cancel to return to the View Page without saving any changes.
- Otherwise, update or change the appropriate values, and click Confirm.
- After a moment, if there were no problems communicating with the network, your changes should be committed to all of the DICOM instances (images and documents) for that patient.
NOTE: If you are also using practice management software, you most likely will need to update the same information in the PM software, too. Changes made to DICOM information in XVWeb are not automatically communicated to other software.
If you have two patients that you would like to merge, use the steps listed above to edit one patient to match the other EXACTLY (barring the Patient comments section) in order to complete the merger within XVWeb. Click this link to view the accompanying video for merging charts
